Ran into an old friend, and I ask her what’s new, and she shows me this new tattoo of hers. I immediately thought of you, and asked to take a picture. She says this was done stick-and-poke while she was drunk. Makes me sad. She’s such a nice girl, and it sucks that this happened to her.
“She’s such a nice girl, and it sucks that this happened to her.”… what? It’s such a gorgeous tattoo. I think I love stick and pokes more than any tattoo, there’s something so lovely and real about getting something permanent on your skin in shakey handwriting and 3am, instead of in a font picked from a selection of 1000 on a computer screen at some white washed studio by people you have no connection with. Maybe I’m overly romanticising it but whatever. I like it, I really really do.
took me like 3 hours to find this post.. worth it
I love this so much
Definitely romanticizing it way too bloody much. Stick and pokes are really dangerous, as they are usually done in non-sterile environments with instruments that haven’t been sterilized.
But you’re entitled to your opinion, I guess. Just please don’t ever make it your aim to get a stick and poke, okay? You are a wonderful person (whoever you may be) and you should live a happy life.
The syntax in the sentence of the tattoo is bothering me.
ITS NOT SEWING SUPPLIES!
My question is how does every single person identify with this, is it like a secret rule to use those for sewing supplies?
I think it’s a passed-along sadistic ritual.
"Oh I loved these cookies! These are great! I hated seeing those tins and opening them only to find sewing supplies and old pens and crap…Those were the best cookies.
…OR… I can GET them, EAT them, and then put MY sewing supplies in them! JUST LIKE MOM! No one even has to know there were cookies in the first place.”
I had a dream where every person, at exactly midnight on new years following their 22nd birthday, they possessed the body of their soulmate and people ran around trying to figure out who they were so that they could find eachother, and they left notes for the body’s owner to find with their address. And there were some language gaps so people had to translate it and travel to different countries carrying the notes they were left, and it was great
